Amply vs Conduit Tech: Pricing, Features & Offline Manual J
Last updated October 2026
Amply vs. Conduit Tech: the headline
Amply and Conduit Tech are both iPad-based tools that use LiDAR to scan a home and run an ACCA-approved Manual J load calculation, with room-by-room loads and AR equipment visualization. Amply works fully offline, lets you rescan any single room at any time, captures angled walls as they are, and publishes its pricing with no annual contract. Conduit, now part of ServiceTitan, is the better fit for large companies that run on ServiceTitan. It also offers 2D floor plans and wall-segment editing today, but it needs an internet connection and scans a floor at a time.
We make Amply, so read this with that in mind. We've tried to be fair, including about where Conduit Tech is ahead.

Where Amply is stronger
It works without a signal
Scanning and the Manual J run with no internet and no cell service. Projects sync when you're back online. Conduit needs a connection, and losing it mid-scan means restarting the floor. In a basement or a rural home, that matters.
Scan room by room. Redo any room, anytime
Amply builds the whole-home model one room at a time. If a room scans badly — bad lighting, a cluttered closet, a missed window — you rescan just that room, even after you've moved on. You can stop to take notes and photos or change construction materials whenever you want. Conduit captures a floor at a time, and you can't add notes or photos until the scan is done.
It captures the house as it is
Amply measures irregular walls, eaves, and other irregular geometry directly. Conduit squares walls off into rectangles, so on a top floor with knee walls or angled ceilings you're entering manual measurements to get the surface areas right.
You know the price up front
Amply's pricing is on our website. There's no annual contract required and no built-in annual price increase. Conduit quotes custom pricing and requires an annual commitment.
You talk to the people who built it
Amply's co-founders, Eric Fitz and Ed Smith, still lead sales and customer success. We'll review your first few Manual Js, and when something goes sideways, you reach someone who has designed heat pump systems.
Where Conduit is stronger
- ServiceTitan. If your company runs on ServiceTitan and you want your design tool from the same vendor, Conduit is the natural fit. Amply's output is a PDF you upload.
- 2D floor plans. Conduit has them today. Amply's are coming.
- Wall-segment editing. Conduit has it today. Amply lets you edit windows, doors, and openings now, with wall-segment editing coming.
- Homeowner education documents. Conduit has a few more report features than Amply currently.
Which one should you choose?
Choose Amply if you're an independent contractor who wants to scan, size, and design in one visit on one device, with or without signal, and wants a homeowner conversation built on the house as it actually is. Visit our pricing page to buy now or book a demo and we'll show you the whole workflow.
Choose Conduit if you're a large HVAC company that runs on ServiceTitan and wants its design tool inside that ecosystem, and your techs reliably have an internet connection on site.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Amply cost?
Amply costs $200/month month-to-month, or $180/month billed annually. Our pricing is published on our pricing page. No annual contract is required.
What iPad do I need for Amply?
Any iPad Pro made on or after 2022 will run Amply. Newer models perform best. Older iPad Pro models from 2021 will still work, just with somewhat slower processing.
You can choose to get an iPad Pro with cellular connect but it is not necessary — Amply runs offline.

Have an iPad and unsure if it is compatible with Amply?
- Download Amply from the App Store
- Open Amply. If Amply is not compatible, you will see a message indicating the current iPad is not Amply compatible.
Is Amply block load only?
No. Amply is ACCA-approved for full residential load calculations. You get heating and cooling loads and CFM for every room, plus whole-house totals.
Is Amply only for heat pumps?
No. A Manual J is about the home, not the equipment. Amply runs load calculations for any home and any system: heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, and traditional AC. We focus our extra features on heat pumps because that's where the industry is going.
Will my utility or city accept Amply's Manual J?
Amply's output is accepted by major rebate programs, including Mass Save and NYS Clean Heat, and contractors use Amply reports for utility and municipal submissions every day. If your program accepts an ACCA-approved Manual J, Amply works.
Can I fix a bad scan in Amply?
Yes. You can rescan any individual room at any point, including after you've moved on to other rooms. You can also edit windows, doors, and other openings.
Does Amply give me airflow numbers?
Yes. Amply provides CFM per room, which is the basis for a duct assessment and duct design. You can sketch a duct layout on the 3D model, or bring your Amply Manual J into another tool to complete a full Manual D.
What reports does Amply produce?
Two. A technical Manual J report for permits, utility rebates, and municipal submissions, and a design document that explains the recommended system in plain language for the homeowner and your install team.
Does Amply integrate with ServiceTitan?
Not directly. Amply generates clean PDFs that take seconds to upload to ServiceTitan or any other FSM.
